Overview Honor 70 Pro+
Android version and market relevance
Dual-smartphone Honor 70 Pro+ introduced a company Honor in May 2022. It has Android version 12, which, unfortunately, it will not be possible to update, because the manufacturer did not take care of it. This new smartphone has also received support for high-speed 5G networks so that you can watch very high-quality 4K or even 8K videos on YouTube, play online games and not feel any inconvenience associated with the slow speed of mobile Internet.
Well, what can I say, Honor 70 Pro+ is a smartphone of 2022 with fairly normal characteristics, which is located in our price segment “Flagships smartphones from $500”.
Screen, body and battery
The case Honor 70 Pro+ has got interesting features: very thin side frames, cutout above the screen for a selfie camera and sensors.
The screen Honor 70 Pro+ is made using the OLED technology, has a diagonal 6.78 inches and refresh rate 120 Hz. If the smoothness of the interface is important for you (especially in mobile games), then you need to choose smartphones with screens that have a refresh rate higher than 120 times per second. Such a very large main touch screen certainly affects the dimensions of the case, which has a thickness of 8.2 mm. Also inside the case is a battery with a capacity of 4 500 mAh. This model could become a flip smartphone and get into our catalog on a separate page, where all phones with flexible screens are collected. Unfortunately, this did not happen. And therefore, if you are interested in smartphones with such top-end characteristics, we advise you to look at them in our catalog and get a deeper understanding in which direction the entire mobile electronics industry is moving. Perhaps, in a couple of years, every second person on the planet will have such flip smartphones.
Main camera and selfie camera
The main camera has several modules (triple camera smartphones): 54 MP Wide + 8 MP Telephoto + 50 MP UltraWide and, as usual, it is located on the back of the smartphone. When a smartphone camera has multiple lenses, it allows zooming with high image quality. You can also take photos with the Bokeh effect. This is an effect where the background is blurred and the subject in the foreground stands out very nicely. It’s better to see it once than hear about it a hundred times, so look at examples of photos from this smartphone. The frontcamera at Honor 70 Pro+ has one module: 50 MP UltraWide. And this, of course, is very good. Your selfies will look beautiful and high quality. This model has a front camera as usual at the top of the screen, like 99.9% of all smartphones. But, if this makes you bored, then we can offer smartphones with pop-up front camera. In these models, the front camera is located inside the body and goes up only when you activate the front camera mode. It sounds interesting, but how convenient it is and how long this mechanism will work is not yet clear.
Processor and Internal Memory
The more cores the smartphone processor has, the faster it works. Of course, do not forget that the applications should be optimized for the version of Android. But if we are talking about technical characteristics, then the processor here 8-core on the chipset MediaTek Dimensity 9000 (4 nm). RAM 8 GB, but if you want, you can buy a version of this smartphone on 12 GB of RAM and, perhaps it will work faster.
Built-in memory for storing different data (photo, video, applications, music, etc.) here 256 GB. Do not forget that the update of the software version will be available for your smartphone, and for this you need to download it first, and if the space is not enough, it will not be able to update. Therefore, we advise you before buying to think about how much internal memory you need.
Price for Honor 70 Pro+: buy or not to buy?
The smartphone Honor 70 Pro+ got into our price segment “Flagships smartphones from $500” and began to be sold in June 2022 at a price of $640. Evaluation of the characteristics, probably, you have already folded, and if not, here is our result. Honor 70 Pro+ is a very smart smartphone with a huge screen and the coolest main camera for today, and the front camera at it turned out simply smart. And to all this we add that the battery is of high capacity.
Is it worth buying now this model of the smartphone, we are talking about our status “Droid-or-Junk”. Of course, at the beginning of sales, almost every smartphone becomes a Droid, and we advise buying such models. But over time, the situation is changing, no one updates the Android version in the smartphone, and in six months or a year this smartphone can already become a Junk. In this case, we advise you to go to the DROID smartphones page in our catalog, where we always show the most current models on sale for today. There are variants from different price segments, so you will have plenty to choose from.

Timeline of news and rumors Honor 70 Pro+
New Honor 70 series announced in China with prices ranging from $400 to $690
Three new smartphones were introduced in the new series: the basic version of Honor 70 and two Pro versions. Sales begin in early June in China. And the cheapest smartphone is Honor 70 8/256 GB with a price of $400. Let’s see if it’s worth paying more for the Pro version?

I would like to note that Honor produces very beautiful smartphones: they have thin cases (about 8 mm), an edge-to-edge screen with minimal bezels, a vivid and original design of the main camera unit on the back. All smartphones are awesome and stand out from the crowd of monoblocks.
All three smartphones run Android 12 with Magic UI 6.1, without built-in Google services. They also received Dual SIM support, a 5G modem, large OLED screens with support for 120 Hz refresh rates, and a fingerprint sensor built into the screens.
Now let’s look at the differences between the basic Honor 70 version and Honor 70 Pro/Pro+ versions. The first difference is the screen diagonal of 6.67 inches instead of 6.78 for the Pro versions. Secondly, the cameras received a different set of sensors, in the basic version you will get a 32 MP front camera, and a triple main camera with 54 MP Wide modules (Sony IMX800, 1/1.49″ module with a 2.0µm pixels) + 50 MP Ultrawide + 2 MP depth sensor. The third difference is that the basic version has a larger battery capacity (4800 mAh versus 4500 mAh). The fourth difference, probably the most important, is the processor, the basic version has a Snapdragon 778G+, as in the previous Honor 60 model, and the Pro versions received the flagship versions of Mediatek processors.
So, here we have the following price grid for Honor 70 series:
- Honor 70 8/256 GB — $400;
- Honor 70 12/256 GB — $450;
- Honor 70 12/512 GB — $510;
- Honor 70 Pro 8/256 GB — $555;
- Honor 70 Pro 12/256 GB — $600;
- Honor 70 Pro 12/512 GB — $660;
- Honor 70 Pro+ 8/256 GB — $645;
- Honor 70 Pro+ 12/256 GB — $690.
If you decide to buy the Honor 70 Pro version, then which of these two? They differ only in processors, and all other characteristics are exactly the same. The screens are the same — 6.78 inches (10-bit, 120Hz, 1,920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, video recording in Huawei’s custom HDR Vivid mode).
The camera blocks are completely identical — a triple main camera (54 MP Wide + 8 MP Telephoto + 50 MP Ultrawide), a 50 MP front camera located in a cutout in the screen.
Processors: MediaTek Dimensity 8000 (5 nm) in the regular Pro version, and the Pro+ version received the most modern chipset — MediaTek Dimensity 9000 (4 nm).
Please note that the Pro+ version did not get the 512 GB storage option, and the regular Pro version will be sold with that option storage.
This is the announcement made by Honor in China. We do not know exactly when global sales will start, but in China these smartphones are already available for pre-order, and sales will begin in the first week of June.
